INTRODUCTION

D. Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Kadamwadi, Kolhapur, organised a two-day induction programme for the freshmen entrants to the D. Pharm. and B. Pharm. programmes, in line with the D. Y. Patil Educational Society (Deemed to be a University) requirements. The induction programme is aimed at helping new incumbents understand the organisational culture, values, and goals; know about various departments and their nature of work or duties; and further, know more about departmental heads and section heads. The induction programme consisted of interesting activities like motivational speeches, expert lectures, and campus orientation sessions. The rationale for induction was to ensure a smooth transition for the students into the university system.

A total of 84 students and their parents participated in this programme, which was conducted from January 12th and 13th, 2023. Faculty and student volunteers from across programmes worked extensively to ensure that the induction was well organised. The following report includes the schedule and brief notes as part of the induction programme arranged at the D.Y. Patil Medical College Auditorium.

 

First day of Induction Programme:

In first day of Induction program, following dignitaries were present

All students and their parents, all faculty members, and organization team were gathered at D. Y. Patil Medical College Auditorium.
The induction programme started with the lighting of the lamp and Sant Gajanan Maharaj Poojan.
The welcome address was given by Dr. V. V. Bhosale.

After that, Principal Dr. C. M. Jangme expressed his views as an introduction to the programme and career opportunities after pharmacy. A campus introduction was given by Dr. Rakesh Kumar Mudgal, Vice Chancellor. He addressed various departments and courses on campus and further highlighted other facilities such as the medicinal garden, all laboratories, the library, the canteen, and all views of campus in his talk. He also focused on the rules and regulations of the D.Y. Patil Education Society. In his motivational speech, he explained the role and responsibilities of a budding pharmacist, the challenges of globalisation, and how to cope with all these challenges. And demands of globalisation.

After this session, brief information about the course diploma and degree in pharmacy was given by Dr. Abhinanadan R. Patil, Associate Professor, such as the infrastructure of the college, tuition fees, scope of pharmacy, importance of pharma education, training and placement details, etc. He also explained information regarding campus drives, hospital visits, industrial visits, guest lectures, conferences, etc.

Thus, the first day of Induction Program was completed successfully in presence of all dignitaries, faculty members, parents and students.
 

Second Day of Induction Programme

On the second day of the induction programme, once again a welcome address was given by Dr. Abhinandan R. Patil to all the D&B Pharmacy students and all faculty members of the D.Y. Patil College of Pharmacy, Kadamwadi, Kolhapur.

After the welcome address, the second day of the induction programme started with the session of academic coordinator Dr. Abhinandan R. Patil, who gave information regarding academic rules and regulations. He explained all information regarding the academic year 2022-2023, such as the practical and theory marking system, how to write assignments and tutorials, and all information regarding the exam pattern involving sessionals and annual exams as per D.Y. Patil Educational Society (an institution deemed to be a university) guidelines. He also elaborated on all rules and regulations along with the syllabus of the Pharmacy Council of India for Degree and Diploma Pharmacy students.

In the afternoon session, Guest Speaker Dr. R. S. Patil, Coordinator, Allied Health Sciences, was there to deliver their session on “Building Careers and Characters”.

In this session, he explained how to start your career and how to get success; further, he motivated and guided our students in their basic character building and interacted with them along with their questions as well.

Thus, by receiving a vote of thanks from Dr. A. R. Patil, the second day was successfully completed in the presence of all dignitaries, faculty members, parents, and students.
